General Information


Center for Spiritual Living's adult education program offers adults of all ages the opportunity to journey more deeply within by practicing the spiritual principles in their daily live through study and prayer with others.


CERTIFICATED CLASSES:
Four classes support students to more deeply understand basic Science of Mind and Spirit beliefs. These classes include Beyond Limits or Foundations, Roots of Science of Mind, Self-Mastery, and Spiritual Practice.

The Foundations or Beyond Limits class serves as a prerequisite to local and international retreats, CSL membership, the remaining three certificated classes, various other course offerings, workshops and continuing participation in the Choir of Light.  Following Foundations or Beyond Limits, the remaining three certificated classes may be taken in any order but not concurrently.  Follow this link for more info on certified/core classes.


PRE-REGISTRATION
:
Register at least one week before the start of each class to ensure adequate class size and materials.  Register online at http://www.cslseattle.org/store/products/browseCat.asp?ID=6 or submit a completed Registration Form with tuition/deposit to CSL.

Payment Plan A $100 deposit holds your place in a class, unless otherwise specified in the class detail. The balance must be paid before the first class session begins. Payment & Refund schedules are available at the Registration table.

DISCOUNTS:  A 20% discount is available to Seniors (62 and older) and to Teens (14-18 years) for Certificated classes only.  Make your requests for discounts at the time of registration by writing “Senior” or “Teen” across the top of the registration form.


Auditing:  Auditing is available for certificated classes only.  To be eligible for the Auditing discount of 50%, you must have completed the course, successfully passed it, and paid all outstanding balances prior to registration.  To be considered as an Audit for a class, please write “Audit” across the top of your registration form at the time of registration. 

Attendance:  Each class syllabus specifies the allowable number of absences. You must notify the instructor or class assistant when you are not able to attend. All homework must be made up before class completion can be granted.

Teaching Assistancy program:  Students who successfully complete classes may talk with their instructors about future opportunities to serve as class teaching assistants who lead small groups and support the instructors with delivery of Science of Mind and Spirit materials.  Deepen beyond your learning as a student and co-create an amazing experience of community. 

Childcare:  Child care is available with prior arrangements for Membership, Beyond Limits, Spiritual Practice, Self Master and Roots. In order to reserve your spot, contact Debbie Sztain, RScP at:

FINANCIAL AID through SErvice-Study: Center for Spiritual Living supports opportunities for everyone to study Science of Mind and Spirit principles.  Service-Study for Foundations, Beyond Limits, Spiritual Practice, and Self Mastery classes provides partial tuition assistance for students with exceptional financial need.  Half of the service-study hours must be completed before the first class session.  Please apply for Service-Study when you register for class(es), so you will complete half of the Service-Study hours before class starts.  Follow this link to identify Service Time Credits for the different classes.  Click here for further information about specific Service-Study Service Opportunities.  Applications are available at this link, at the registration table or by contacting Vaughan Amare’ at ext. 219 or adulted@cslseattle.org for more information.

Refund Policy:  Refunds are based on the date Center for Spiritual Living's, Adult Education Registrar is notified, according to the following guidelines:

Class cancelled by CSL:
~              100% refund

Classes cancelled by student:

~              100% refund with notification to CSL prior to first class
~              50% refund with notification prior to 2nd class
~              0% refund with notification from 2nd class on

To be eligible for a refund, all withdrawals must be recorded by the Adult Education Registrar.  To officially withdraw from a class, leave a voicemail at 206/527-8801, ext. 219 or email adulted@cslseattle.org  Withdrawals will be recorded the same day as notified if on a business day.  Withdrawals will be recorded on the first business day following notification if notification is made after business hours or on weekends or holidays.

Notifying an instructor does not constitute official withdrawal from class.  It is the student’s responsibility to make sure a withdrawal is recorded and dated with the Adult Education Registrar to be eligible for any refund.

All refunds will be issued by check. Credits will not be held on the books for future classes.
