"I believe God was
in this man, Ernest Holmes. He was in tune with the Infinite."
Norman Vincent Peale
"Science of mind bears
the same relation to religion that natural science bears to
the laws of nature. It is a science of mental and spiritual
phenomena, and as such it appeals to adherents of all religious
beliefs, as well as to those who have no particular religious
conviction; it appeals to all students of life."
Ernest Holmes
Ernest Holmes has made a contribution of international proportion to
changing the consciousness of so many people alive today. By founding the
movement of Religious Science that eventually became an organized religion,
Ernest gave the world a gift of how to practically apply the laws of
Spiritual Principles, which are widely acknowledged in many world religions,
by using a tool referred to as Spiritual Mind Treatment. As the Science of
Mind book jacket states, "While imparting a technique for living that has
rarely been equaled."
Ernest Holmes began the development of this technique through years of study.
From the time he was a small boy through out his life time
he seemed to have an insatiable curiosity to not only understand
the Truth of Spiritual Principles, but to learn how to practically
apply them to everyday life in such a way as to irrevocably
change one's life for GOOD. Ernest was born January 21, 1887,
on a small farm near Lincoln, Maine. He was the youngest of
nine boys. His parents were William and Anna Health Holmes.
Ernest attended rural schools like many of his counterparts
at that time. However, according to Ernest, "I quit school
when I was about 15 and didn't go back except to study public
speaking."
Ernest did go on to become an internationally known speaker.
His was dedicated to study all the major religions, major
philosophers and truths of science and merge the laws and
ideals inherent to all so that he could create a practical
way of understanding what is true of life, how it works and
how do we practically apply this knowledge to everyday life.
He founded the New Thought religion which has grown into a
life changing organization of Religious Science that's vision
is to empower the individual to make his or her personal connection
with this thing called, God, Life, Infinite Spirit, living
from conscious choice with an understanding that Life is Good.
Ernest was a prolific writer, a few of his works are
The Science of Mind textbook
This Thing Called Life
This Thing Called You
Creative Mind and Success
The Voice Celestial
